Traffic stop in Riverside leads to pot bust

Reed Bouhaddaba, 24, of Lockwood Avenue, Greenwich, is facing charges of dealing marijuana after officers said they smelled pot coming from his car at a Riverside after a traffic stop Sunday night. Police said Bouhaddaba was pulled over near Sheephill Road after allegedly running a stop sign around 9 p.m. Cops said they became suspicious that marijuana was in the car, and authorities said they found a sizable quantity of the illicit substance inside, along with drug paraphernalia and packaging material.

Riverside man bilked of nearly $1 million: cops

A facilities manager at Hill House , a residential facility for seniors, has been charged with first-degree larceny and accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from a 77-year-old Riverside man who has Parkinson's disease. Joe Lanoce , 60, of 150 Main Street, Norwalk, who had a gambling habit that authorities said was fed by regularly playing $30 scratch-off lottery tickets at a Riverside Mobil station, was released from custody after posting a $50,000 bond.

State rejects school plans for school uprades at Riverside Park

Metro-North New Haven line back on schedule after delays

The Metro-North New Haven line is running on schedule Sunday morning after a burning tree branch between the Riverside and Old Greenwich stations caused delays Saturday night. Trees branches caught on fire on an overhead wire and fell onto the tracks around 7 p.m. last night, Metro-North spokesperson Nancy Gamerman said.

Man charged with DUI after Riverside crash

A 27-year-old man was charged with driving under the influence after a May 3 crash on Riverside Avenue. Christopher Hale , of Bank Street in Stamford, struck a park car about 3 p.m. May 3 near 75 Riverside Ave., according to the report, and alsw was charged with failure to drive in the proper lane.

Metro-North construction equipment derails; trains delayed

A piece of construction equipment derailed on a Metro North Railroad track Thursday afternoon, injuring one worker and causing delays of up to 20 minutes on New Haven Line trains. The equipment, a tie inserter, derailed between the Cos Cob and Riverside stations shortly after noon, Metro North officials said.

Accused shoplifter stole $12,000 from CVS in Greenwich: cops

A New York City man, with a previous record of shoplifting charges against him, was arraigned Monday on charges that he stole over $12,000 in merchandise from two CVS stores in Greenwich. Eugene Holloway , 60, of 107 Ave., Jamaica, Queens, faced charges of conspiracy to commit larceny and possession of a shoplifting device in a Stamford courtroom.

Proc was born and raised in Montclair NJ, attended Montclair Academy, The Taft School, served in the US Navy at the end of WWII and graduated from Williams College on the GI Bill. He studied medicine in Switzerland where he met his bride of 63 years, Nicole Olry deLabry.
