On Wednesday, Chop't Creative Salad Company is offering special meals with $2 salads and sandwiches for sale from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at its location at 1271 Putnam Ave., Riverside. All proceeds from the Chop't Gives Day will go to the Kids for Kids, a local organization that raises money for impoverished children in Appalachia.
Heart Care International founder and CEO Dr. Robert Michler, of Riverside, talked about the organization at the Rotary Club's Feb. 25 meeting. Sally Parris, president of the Greenwich Rotary Club, along with other members, presented Michler with a $5,000 check after his speech.
The Chinese Language School of Connecticut's 13th annual Chinese New Year Festival was held on March 1, 2015. For the year of the ram, the school will gather at Eastern Middle School in the Riverside section of Greenwich.
