Republicans in Greenwich are counting on their remarkable history of electoral success in General Assembly races to continue as they seek to retain the town's three state House of Representative seats and the state Senate seat. And they have three of the four seats either sewn up or simply waiting for 8 p.m. Tuesday when voting ends to declare victory.
Four Greenwich residents co-hosted an event to honor the international eye care organization Orbis and its work in supporting the 285 million people living with avoidable blindness around the world. Hosting 70 guests at the Round Hill Club on Oct. 16 were Langdon Cook, Orbis International Board Member, Emeritus of Greenwich; Dick Lewis, Orbis International Board Member, Retired, of Riverside; Terence Markey, Orbis International Board Member, Retire, of Greenwich, and Desmond Fitzgerald, Orbis International Board Member, Retired, also of Greenwich.
A resident of the 1600 block of Riverside Ct. reported finding a man in their master bedroom during an estate sale at the home Oct. 12. They suspected the man of stealing and told him to leave. Officers located him nearby and he consented to a search that revealed two credit cards in the victim's name.

The upscale food outlet is adding more than 2,000 square feet of space to its existing footprint this fall in a move that Balducci's Food Lover's Market CEO Judy Spires said will not affect the customer experience in the coming months. "While our market is currently being renovated, we are pleased to continue serving the best gourmet offerings, including hand-selected produce, prime cuts of meat, fresh fish, daily chef-prepared meals, restaurant-caliber catering and more," Spires said.
